West Coast Painting Pad

Earth pigments from the wild, mineral-rich heart of lutruwita.

Tasmania’s West Coast is a land of stark beauty—where rainforest meets mine-cut hills, where old timber towns sit beneath iron-stained mountains. This painting pad captures the spirit of untamed Country, shaped by rain, rust, mineral and memory.

Here, the elements are alive. Each page invites you to slow down, honour the textures of the landscape, and paint with story, not just colour.

What’s Included:

  • 10 pages total, including:

    • 1 x finished artwork example

    • 1 x welcome and story page introducing West Coast Country through pigment and place

    • 8 x outlined artworks featuring:

      • Giant Freshwater Crayfish / Nupinya

      • Queenstown Hotel

      • Hells Gate Lighthouse / Towenric

      • Mt Owen / Milaythina

      • Paragon Theatre

      • Lovers Falls

      • Waratah Flower / Kiuntah

      • West Coast Wilderness Railway

  • Earth pigment palette included at the back—colours drawn from ironstone hills, blackwater creeks, misted rainforest, and mining earth.

Paper & Format:

  • Size: 5 x 7 inches

  • Paper: 216gsm Mohawk Via Felt Bright White (artist-grade watercolour paper)

  • Format: Gummed Note Pad - Easy Tear Out Pages

What You’ll Feel:

This is Country that feels alive, rough, and ancient. You’ll sense the weight of mineral beneath your feet, the soak of rainforest mist, the legacy of towns built by hand and flame. Let the pigment connect you to the story of a place shaped by both industry and wild nature.

This pad is not just about painting—it’s about presence, memory, and the raw power of lutruwita’s western edge.

Who It’s For:

  • Artists, travellers, and lovers of wild places

  • Those drawn to landscapes of contrast and spirit

  • Beginners to advanced painters

  • Perfect for retreats, gifts, or creative self-exploration

Acknowledgement of Country

This is Palawa Country. It always was, and always will be.

We pay respect to the Punnerlerpanna people, the creators of these northern shores, the great fishing culture of the north whose Country we live in. Though they did not survive colonisation, their presence is felt in the land, in the tides, in the stories that still echo here.

We honour our Palawa community past and present across Trouwerner/Lutruwita (Tasmania) and beyond, those who have carried knowledge forward, protected Country, and upheld the responsibilities passed down through generations.

To know this land is to know its true custodians.
